Ionic Sudoku is one of the most popular puzzle games of all time. The goal of Ionic Sudoku is to fill a 9×9 grid with molecules so that each row & column and 3×3 section contain all of the anions except one cation in a box of 3×3. As an Ionic puzzle, Sudoku is also an excellent brain game. All that is needed are brains, concentration & knowledge of ionic valency.

Structure:
Round 1 (Qualifying Round): In this round of Ionic Sudoku, participant needs to use logic to work out the compounds in the blank squares. Every row, column and 3×3 box contains a Chloride (Cl–), Bromide (Br–), Iodide (I–), Oxide (O2-), Hydroxide (OH–), Nitrate (NO3–), Carbonate (CO32-), Sulfate (SO42-) and Phosphate (PO43-). Each 3×3 box is based on compounds with the same positive ion. No anion should be repeated in row, column and square of 3×3. Compound should be with proper stoichiometric coefficient. Top 10 participants will reach the next round. Selection will be on the basis of submission of correct Sudoku in minimum time.
Round 2 (Advance Round): Similar to first round, Winner and runner-up will be decided on the basis of who submits correctly solved Sudoku in minimum time.
Rules and Guidelines:
- Individual participation will be there.
- Use of electronic media will not be allowed.
- Use of pencil and eraser is allowed but before final submission you must fill it using pen.
- The competition will be conducted in two rounds.
- Teams which do not adhere to the rules and regulations can be disqualified at any phase of the event.
- In case of any dispute, the decision of the judges and CRYSTAL’17 Organizing Committee will be final and binding.
- Spot registrations at college gate on March 8 at 9 am or Register here.
